Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (ソニック・ザ・ヘッジホッグ3 Sonikku za Hejjihoggu Surī?) is a 1994 platform video game in the Sonic the Hedgehog series for the Sega Genesis. It was developed in the United States by members of Sonic Team working at Sega Technical Institute, and was published by Sega, debuting worldwide in the first half of 1994. The game is a sequel to the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the same system and follows on directly from the end of the game, in which Sonic defeated his enemy, Dr. Robotnik; crash-landing on a floating island, Sonic encounters new character Knuckles the Echidna, and must once more retrieve the Chaos Emeralds while also working to stop Dr. Robotnik from relaunching his ship, the Death Egg.

The game is closely tied to its direct sequel Sonic & Knuckles, as the two games were originally developed as a single game until time constraints and cartridge costs forced them to be split into two interlocking parts.

I don't care. I already own S3&K. It's a perfectly functional game; it's got a few bugs and obviously the graphics and such aren't up to current standards, but it still plays great and looks fine. I've got no interest in buying the game over again just for updated graphics and some random bonuses. I'd rather the money be put towards a new game.

I didn't mean a remake that only adds a few bells and whistles, I meant a remake that adds loads of content, if that is what you thought. Edited October 20, 2012 by WereHog64. I wouldn't really want it either, but this thread isn't about if we want it, so much as what we'd want in it if it was to exist. I'd want completely redone graphics. At least on par with Generations.

And redone music done with current tech, plus an option to switch to original for nostalgiafags (used here as a term of endearment.) And uh. That's it really. I'd keep the level design the same, and I wouldn't add any cutscenes or anything save for maybe a CG intro or some shit like that. Maybe add some more shitty friends.

Well this thread was a bust.:/ I honeslty thought people would like to talk about what they would like to see in an S3&K HD remake. I honestly don't think anyone is deliberatly raining your your parade. It's just that Sonic 3 & Knuckles is fine the way it is.

Improvements or adding things to this game just aren't necessary. It's a good game in it's own right, a fine classic. Besides, this remake thing is getting kinda old. I'd rather see something new or if something is going to be remade, make it something that isn't widely available like SegaSonic or Sonic Shuffle, for example. I'd like more playable characters! Instead of Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles, we could have Silver, Rouge, Amy, ect each with their abilities from their games and translated into 2D.
