Hello, Ever since upgrading my Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64 to Windows 8 Pro x64, my Corsair Flash Voyager GT 32GB USB 3.0 thumb drive no longer works when plugging it into my USB 3.0 port on my laptop. I get an error that the 'USB Device last connected to the computer has malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize it'.

I searched for someone with a similar problem and stumbled upon this answer: I tried the solution (Method 1) on that page, however Windows reports it was unable to solve the hardware issue. Is there anything else I can try to solve this issue? The thumb drive works in the USB 2.0 ports, and it worked in the USB 3.0 port when running Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64. Hey, I've contacted Corsair about it, and they say it's a driver issue in Windows 8 and I need to contact my laptop manufacturer to get the latest drivers for it, however even though my manufactuer are at full steam advertising Windows 8 upgrades, they say they don't fully support it yet. The Host controller my laptop uses for USB 3.0 is 'Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 Host Controller'.

Through googling I've noticed others have had problems with this Host controller in Windows 8, and I can't seem to find a solution for it yet. Unfortunately, windows 8 compatibility is not yet listed so try to install renesas usb 3.0 installer in windows 7 compatibility mode.
